Museum & Gallery Events in Scotland

You’ll be surprised at the number of museums and galleries you’ll find in Scotland. And you’ll be astounded to discover many of them offer free entry for the whole family.

Kick off a brilliant day with a trip to one of our fantastic museums. With curators commissioning everything from Picasso: Fired with Passion to The Concorde Exhibition, the sky’s the limit when it comes to quality of exhibits.

Recently refurbished, Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Scotland’s most popular tourist attractions and has been short listed for the prestigious Gulbenkian Prize. From Rembrandt’s A Man in Armour, to Sir Roger the elephant, there’s plenty to delight culture vultures of all ages. Also in Glasgow, the Gallery of Modern Art is the most visited gallery of its kind outside London.

Over in Edinburgh, works by the likes of William Blake and Andy Warhol adorn the walls of  The National Galleries, including The National Portrait Gallery and The National Gallery of Scotland. While the Edinburgh Art Festival and Glasgow Art Fair serve up a vibrant mix of world-class exhibitions, grassroots projects and work from over 1000 artists worldwide. Make sure you check out the huge variety of work on show.
