THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCOTLAND
From: Monday 21 July 2008 To: Wednesday 31 December 2008
The National Museum of Scotland is a landmark building in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The collections here take you on a journey of discovery through the story of Scotland, its land, its people and culture, and there's also a changing series of exhibitions throughout the year, so there's always something new to discover. Exhibitions for 2008 include 'Scotland: A Changing Nation' focusing on the influences that have shaped Scotland, and 'Extremes: Life in Subartic Canada' which examines the lives of the Tlicho people.
From 3 to 24 August 2008, there's also Free Fringe Music at the Museum - a lunchtime daily dose of traditional music performances, from Highland dancing to Gaelic songs - a must for any Festival visitor.
National Museums Scotland is responsible for six varied museum properties across Scotland. For details of all six properties, visit www.nms.ac.uk.
